Arts and Architecture interest cruise.

Scotland has a rich heritage of art and architecture and today the traditional and the contemporary all have their place in the fabric of the country. Visit one of the nation's most renowned art galleries and appreciate the work of Scottish architects whose legacy has left lasting marks on the landscape.

A warm welcome from a member of the family awaits at Finlaystone House, seat of the Clan MacMillan. Set in 500 acres of ancient woodland and mature gardens overlooking the Clyde, this impressive mansion has been home to five families in its 800 year history.

After navigating the narrow channel of the Upper Clyde, rich in shipbuilding history, we travel to Holmwood House and discover the richly embellished architecture of Alexander 'Greek Thomson.

The magnificent Burrell Collection houses a staggering 9,000 objects which form one of Europe's most beautiful museums, Named after its donor, the shipping magnate Sir William Burrell, the history of the collection spans over 6,000 years and displays a range of work by major artists including Rodin, Degas and Cézanne.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh's architectural masterpiece of Hill House turns art into a home. Be inspired by the unique building, interiors and collection designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh in the 'Glasgow style'. The newly discovered Mackintosh Club in Helensburgh is his first complete commission dating back to 1894. The red sandstone building contains many features which can be seen as forerunners of Mackintosh's greatest building, Glasgow School of Art.

Set amidst magnificent west Highland scenery, Loch Goil forms an arm of Loch Long and a coastal section of the Cowal Peninsula.
