Cruise Description |
7 Night Cruise sailing from Oban roundtrip aboard Hebridean Princess.
Enjoy the awe-inspiring contrast of untamed beinns, glens and the breathtaking drama of Glencoe and its tragic past, with the gentle beauty of the Small Isles and breathtaking lochs as they awaken in spring. A true voyage of discovery, offering a wonderful variety of scenery and wildlife, all waiting to be explored from Hebridean Princess.
Explore Kingairloch, a 14,000-acre Highland estate, located in an unspoilt area of beauty, ahead of discovering the story of the 1745 Jacobite Rising at Glenfinnan, where the moving tribute to those who died fighting for the cause is framed by dramatic Highland scenery. From Ballachulish, enjoy the majesty that is Glencoe, a spectacular area of outstanding natural beauty with a dark past.
A warm welcome awaits at the ancient seat of Clan Maclean, Duart Castle. On the Small Isle of Canna, given to the Natural Trust for Scotland by the great Gaelic scholar John Lorne Campbell, we visit his former home, the newly restored 19th century Canna House.
The smallest of the Small Isles, Muck, plays host to scenic walks and wildlife watching. A world away, clamber along rocky Loch Coruisk created 60 million years ago by volcanic lava. Discover the history and magic of Talisker Distillery and its whisky, standing proudly on the shores of Loch Harport.
Explore the unspoilt wildlife haven of Eigg, below the impressive lava mass of An Sgurr and the rocky and wild Isle of Coll, picturesquely fringed by silver-white beaches. On Tiree, learn the story of the remarkable construction of the Skerryvore Lighthouse, before our final visit to the sacred island of lona and the beautifully restored Benedictine Abbey. |
