Garden interest cruise.
Scotland's west coast and the east coast of Northern Ireland boast a diverse collection of historic and intriguing gardens which are home to vast collections of plants from around the world. Many were laid out to complement grand houses or castles, whilst others are hidden gems, all are inspiring and waiting to be explored.
Kilchoan is an eclectic private garden with a cosmopolitan mix of plants and artwork. Part of a conservation initiative and rewilding project, the Kilchoan estate is being restored to its former glory. Tour the exotic oasis of tranquillity at Arduaine, a plantsman's garden full of colour and fragrance, ablaze with vibrant spring flowers.
Set on the beautiful island of Gigha, the gardens at Achamore House were planted by Sir James Horlick to grow his tender rhododendrons. Walk in paradise at Logan Botanic Garden and discover a remarkable collection of unusual plants. With stunning sea views across to the Isle of Man, Glenwhan has been described as one of the most beautiful gardens in Scotland.
The unique garden at Rowallane, grown from the 19th century vision of Reverend John Moore, allows you to immerse yourself in nature's beauty, whilst the enchanting gardens on the Montalto Estate captivate with surprising features. Nestled in rolling countryside, Montalto covers 400 acres of woodland, park and formal grounds.
A historic estate close to the Antrim coast, Benvarden consists of a mature walled garden and extensive landscaped grounds which stretch down to the River Bush. En route to Oban we find the spectacular garden at An Cala, designed by Thomas Mawson in the 1930s, with its colourful border, rockeries and meandering streams.
