Cruise Description |
7 Night Cruise sailing from Oban roundtrip onboard Hebridean Princess.
World Heritage interest cruise (In association with National Trust for Scotland | Foundation USA).
Explore the most beautiful, remote islands and mainland gems managed by the National Trust for Scotland, from the luxury and comfort of Hebridean Princess. With stunning vistas of turquoise seas, white sandy beaches, towering sea stacks and spectacular wildlife, this truly is the journey of a lifetime.
We head for the uninhabited Bishop's Isles to experience the thrill of a beach landing before plotting a course for the most remote outposts of the British Isles, the archipelago of St Kilda. Our overnight sail allows us to arrive early morning and cruise the imposing sea stacks, before going ashore at Village Bay for a warden led tour of the United Kingdom's only double UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Cruising around the northerly Butt of Lewis, we make landfall at Ullapool. Corrieshalloch Gorge is the world's largest box canyon and here we marvel at the giant waterfall as it cascades through a wilderness rich in flora and fauna.
The paradise of Inverewe comprises 2,500 exotic sub- tropical species from across the globe and was created in the 19th century by Sir Osgood Mackenzie. Onwards to the pretty conservation village of Plockton, and the traditional crofting estate of Balmacara which offers refreshing walks and spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.
The Isle of Canna, gifted to the National Trust for Scotland by John Lorne Campbell in 1981, plays host to our visit ahead of a relaxing sail of the neighbouring Small Isles. Before landing on the sacred isle of lona, a local boat takes us to the wildlife haven of Lunga, and Staffa, home to Fingal's Cave with its spectacular hexagonal basalt columns. |
