Cruise Description 6 Night Cruise sailing from Inverness to Oban aboard Lord of the Highlands.

Enjoy an enticing Easter cruise on board Lord of the Highlands to transit Telford’s remarkable Caledonian Canal through the dramatic Highland scenery of the Great Glen. Onwards to discover the delights of Mull and Iona and sail into Oban, the ‘Gateway to the Isles’, on this delightful spring getaway.

Explore Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands or take the opportunity to join the Easter Sunday service in the cathedral dedicated to the patron saint, Andrew. Set sail along the Caledonian Canal, built between 1803 and 1822 to connect the Great Glen’s four lochs, and ascend the impressive series of locks which runs through Fort Augustus. Continuing along the canal, we ascend to the highest point at Loch Oich and glide serenely through the picturesque tree-lined Laggan Avenue, before reaching Neptune’s Staircase. Overlooked by the magnificent Ben Nevis, this amazing feat of engineering descends the canal over 19 metres and is the longest lock staircase in Scotland.
At Glenfinnan we visit the iconic monument honouring the fallen Jacobite clansmen, framed by spectacular Highland scenery, before cruising out into open sea to the colourful harbour town of Tobermory on Mull where we discover the award winning cheeses made by hand at the Isle of Mull Cheese farm.

On Iona, the tranquility of the restored Benedictine Abbey awaits, standing on the site of the monastery founded by St Columba. Our final port of call is Oban, where Dunstaffnage Castle, the mighty stronghold of the ‘Kings of the Isles’ overlooks the Firth of Lorn and the folly of McCaig’s Tower affords panoramic views over the bay to the Atlantic Islands.
